ABOUT US

Hey, I'm Matcha.

I live in Kentucky with my husband and our cat.

Bouncing Soaps is a rekindled mash-up of all my creative pursuits. I’ve been an artist, a tech, a barista, a cashier—sometimes both at once. Now I make art and soap and whatever else catches my attention.

Don’t let the name “Bouncing Soaps” confuse you. The “bouncing” is about moving from idea to idea. Like the song, the story can be a little jarring, and that’s okay. Welcome.

All of my products and designs are made by me. I source raw materials and create the soaps, lotions, and fragrances you buy in my shop myself—how intimate is that? For apparel, merch, and some prints, I work with print-on-demand partners so I’m not overproducing things I’m not sure will sell. The bonus of not overcommitting is less waste and fewer unnecessary carbon emissions. I also make my own mini prints on cardstock and tuck those (or postcards) into each soap order.

Some of my products, especially the high-end apparel, are absolutely out of my own budget. That’s part of why I make them. I’d rather choose more ethical, higher-quality sources than fast fashion, even if it means offering a double silk bomber jacket for $230 that might never sell. It’s stunning. I would love to own it myself, and I like to think someone out there might feel the same way.

When you purchase from my shop, you’re supporting me directly. I put everything into high-quality ingredients and thoughtful design. My soaps are rich, gentle, and meant to be both striking to look at and something small you can look forward to using. It’s not groundbreaking, but a little luxury can bolster you and make the day feel a lot more manageable.
